SALA Phuket Resort & Spa, Turtle Village, Temples & Beautiful Beaches
The one thing that I would do over when arriving in Phuket is to dress lighter! No jeans, heavy coat or sweater. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, out of habit, I was too layered. Phuket has so much to offer, warm climate, beautiful beaches, and fantastic outdoor activities! We chose to spend our days lounging by the pool, morning runs on the beach, day trips to temples and visiting Turtle Village (only a five-minute shuttle drive from the resort).
For our first few days, we stayed at SALA Phuket, a spa resort located a few kilometers from the ocean. This place was beautiful! No wonder why couples decide to come and elope here. My favorite part of our hotel suite was our outdoor tub, shower, and restroom. I know, this sounds super weird coming from the states. But, with the war climate year round, it makes complete sense. Near the tub, there was a cabana area with a daybed. I would spend my mornings taking a hot bubble bath, followed by a few hours reading on the daybed.
During breakfast and dinner, we would walk down towards the beach where the restaurant was. They provided daily fresh squeezed juices, open veggie station and a hot bar where the chef would cook your breakfast food of choice. From the fantastic work out facility, spa, and restaurant, I couldn't be more pleased with this place. Whether you're planning your wedding, honeymoon, or a weekend getaway with close friends, this site is a must-see on your bucket list. I would recommend low season, to take advantage of lower rates. We went in late November and the weather was perfect!
Make sure to take the daily shuttle down to Turtle Village. Here, you'll find cute little shops, places to eat, even an Irish restaurant and a grocery store. Make sure to spend a day visiting various temples. The hotel can help set this up for you upon arrival, or if you want to book this in advance, I recommend using Selective Asia.
